They’re vastly different, but they have more in common than most people know. They are Michigan’s Equity theatres: all professional, all producing under a contract with the Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers.

Membership in META is determined by its membership committee.  Qualifications of member theatres include:

  • A demonstrated history of producing as an Equity Theatre
  • Regularly employing at least one-third AEA members per season
  • A demonstrated history of artistic excellence
  • A 501c3 non-profit status
